Packing your child's lunch doesn't have to be difficult and it's one of the most important things you can do. Keep in mind, foods are different than when we were growing up. So many foods can be filled with harmful ingredients. Also, children do not necessarily NEED a treat in their lunchbox! There is no value in these foods and it can negatively affect their health as well as their school performance.
What to include in your child's lunchbox:
At least 1 fruit and 1 veggie, a healthy carbohydrate (whole grain bread or crackers, rice, quinoa, legumes/lentils, etc), lean protein (beans, edamame, peas, sliced turkey or chicken, eggs, tuna, nuts, natural PB, etc), and an ice pack to keep it all cool. You could always add a little love note!
